I don’t know if you remember this; but last August, my mom stopped you in the parking lot after church to bless me before I went to Spain to study for the semester. Well, I just wanted to thank you for blessing me, because God has really been with me while I’ve been here. Aside from that I remembered that you said you would be in Spain for the Youth Day next year. You have to go to Avila. That’s where my class’ first excursion was. The cathedral was so beautiful and is still considered so holy that they do not even let you take pictures without flash. A lot of my classmates were upset with this. I was not, because when you enter the cathedral, the air is different. Everything is so awe-inspiring. The rocks are red specifically to reflect the blood of Christ. You almost feel compelled to drop to your knees and pray automatically.
Aside from the cathedral, Avila is the birthplace of our church’s patron saint. I don’t think anyone in the group understood why I was so excited about this, but I actually was at the church where she was baptized. I am attaching a picture of this.
I also recommend that you go to the Cathedral of Alumendra in Madrid; although, I have yet to meet a Spaniard who likes it. It is very modern, but it is still very beautiful. I hope you are well.
