Love Is Chain Reaction!
“Love is chain reaction.” Upon learning about One Body Village, Mary Dinh, a Vietnamese Canadian, asked her son’s teacher, Sister Connie, from the Congregation of Lovers of the Holy Cross, to visit and contribute a small donation along with prayers on her upcoming trip to Vietnam.
It has been a challenge for Sister Connie as she is unfamiliar with OBV. Starting from Mary Dinh’s communication, Sister Connie requested assistance from Sister Lý and Sister Hoàn, both also from the Congregation of Lovers of the Holy Cross in Bình Lợi, to contact Father Martino, communicate with Ms. Linh (OBV’s Director in Vietnam), and to sit down with OBV to better understand OBV’s mission, goals and objectives. After hearing the true stories about children being sold and forced into sex slavery, the Sisters exclaimed “this is sick!”
This is a letter Sister Connie wrote prior to meeting staff at OBV. Following that meeting, OBV received multiple prayers from the Sisters. The Sisters have also pledged to volunteer their times to live and support the children as well as being the “voice” for the children.
Sister Connie’s Note:
“This is a small donation to your ministry made on behalf of Mary Dinh. Mary is a Vietnammese mother of 3. Her boys attend the school I teach at and she gave me your name when she found out I was coming to VietNam.
Mary admires your work very much and really wanted me to meet you. I believe one day Mary would like to work with you in your ministry.
Peace + Blessings,
Sr. Connie Harrington, snjm
